Copiers are located on the first floor
near
the library's entrance and circulation desk.
Use a copy card (available from the
circulation desk)
or cash (change, $5 or $1 bills).
Copies are ten cents per page.

The journals are located on the first
floor,
in alphabetical order by title.
The current journals (the latest issue
of each title) are located on the second floor.
|
Seating areas are designed to provide
space for quiet study.
The area at the far end of the
first floor is designated
for those who wish to study in groups
and discuss their work.

The reference desk is
on the second floor.
This is the place to learn how
to use OVID Medline and
CINAHL,
to get tips on how to use the Internet,
or advice on how to use
the library to your greatest advantage!

The Instructional Lab is available to
University of South Alabama faculty,
staff, and students. Contact the reference desk
to ask about classes they teach
(or check our web site for
list of classes).
This lab is primarily for database searching
and classwork, but may be used
for email
and web-surfing when the computers
are not otherwise utilized.

These computers are available for OVID
Medline
and CINAHL searching (password needed),
as well as a variety of CDROM products.
Current Contents, Life Sciences edition, and other
government CDs are available at the reference desk.

The reference collection is adjacent
to the reference desk. Although
clinical medicine titles are primarily
located at the University Medical Center Site,
there may well be a reference
book available here to answer your questions.
While these may not be checked out,
they may be photocopied on the first floor.

The classroom is on the second floor.
It is primarily used for library training classes.
|
The document delivery department takes
care
of ordering articles and books not owned by the
library for the Colleges of
Medicine, Nursing, and Allied Health.
If you would like to get your articles in
PDF format on the web, ask about getting
articles via Prospero. Check out the
online
forms and save yourself a trip!

The Multimedia Computer Lab is available
to USA students, faculty, and staff.
There are a variety of health related
CDROM products available at the
circulation desk which may be used here.

On the third floor, a number of rooms
are available
to College of Medicine students for individual
study.
Keys may be checked out at the
circulation desk on the first floor.

Group study rooms
are available for students in the
Colleges of Nursing,
Allied Health, and Medicine.
These can be checked out at circulation
for up to 4 hours at a time.

Books are available on the third floor.
Reference books are on the second floor.
|
The Special Collections room
houses a collection of unique
history of medicine books and journals.
It is located at the rear
of the third floor.
|
Library Administration and Technical Services
are located at the rear of the third floor.
|
