Limiting your retrieval to appropriate references
We now have a set of 335 citations dealing with interferons and multiple
sclerosis. Knowing that this is a very large database which includes foreign
journals and animal studies, you can eliminate citations that may not be
appropriate by using the LIMIT function.
Common limits are conveniently listed directly below the box labeled
"Enter Keyword or phrase":
These Limits are:
-
Local Holdings (journals available in the USA Biomedical Libraries)
-
Full Text Available (journal titles to which there is a full text
link from Ovid. Note that the USA Biomedical Libraries subscribe
to many additional full text electronic journals which are not directly
linked to Ovid.)
-
Human (studies involving humans, may also include animals)
-
English (language)
-
Reviews (review state-of-the-art articles)
-
Abstracts (references with abstracts or summaries of the article)
-
Latest Update (citations from the most recent month's update)
-
EBM Reviews (Article Reviews from Best Evidence database (ACP
Journal Club or Evidence-based Medicine or Topic Reviews from
Cochrane
Library of Systematic Reviews)
-
Year(s) of Publication from 1966 to 1999, depending on the MEDLINE
file
