Free Medline: PubMed & NLM Gateway

You can also search MEDLINE through the National Library of Medicine's PubMed website. Additionally you can also use the NLM Gateway to simultaneously search several databases including: MEDLINE/PubMed, OLDMEDLINE, LOCATORplus, MEDLINEplus, DIRLINE, AIDS Meetings, Health Services Research Meetings,Space Life Sciences Meetings, and HSRProj.

New from PubMed!!

There is a new program called Linkout that links the fulltext electronic version of an article from the abstract page on PubMed.  We are beta-testing this program.  Some of our electronic holdings will now be obvious from the abstract screen in PubMed when you use this particular link.    Holdings to electronic journals the library subscribes to may be searched using the command 'loprovusalib[sb]'.  A search for drugs from our electronic holdings would be worded:  loprovusalib[sb] AND drugs

There are a few limitations to be aware of.  Most of these titles will only be accessible from a hardwired computer on campus at this time. Most electronic journals only cover the last 3-5 years.  As they expand this program, more of our electronic holdings will be added.
