[For those who have been using
the Medgate Proxy server that the Biomedical Library
has been using in 2001 and the beginning of 2002,
we are changing to a new proxy server that should
work for all users (including AOL and Compuserve).
If
you set up your computer to access articles from
home using the old proxy, you should now remove those
changes. To
remove the changes, go to the following page for
instructions. If you do NOT
remove the changes, you will have two sign-on procedures
to go through before getting to a database. Once
you have successfully removed the old setup, you
should no longer see a gray pop up box asking for
your username and password, instead there will be
a screen asking for your login with last name and
last 4 digits of your social security or library
barcode.]
This proxy server is only for the faculty, staff,
and students at the University of South Alabama. The
proxy server makes it possible to reach the sites
listed below from home or from a site that is not
a hard-wired campus site. If you have problems
with the proxy server, go
to this page for more information. Login
instructions will appear on the screen. To
login, enter your last name and either your library
barcode or the last 4 digits of your social security
number -- either one will work.
Check here for our list
of electronic journals - an image of a
house next to the journal means it is available
from home to qualified users. Our electronic
books are available from off campus as
well.
If
you have problems accessing databases and full
text from home using the proxy server, please
click here and see if this page might have the
answer!
