MD Consult provides answers to clinical questions and helps the
clinician keep up-to-date. Faculty are asked to review the clinical
resources included in this tool. MDConsult contains the following
resources: Medical Texts, Full-text Journal Articles, Drug Information,
Practice Guidelines, Patient Handouts, and a CME Center.
Click on the blue underlined MDConsult from the Resources page.
If you are a returning user, click Member Sign-In, and enter your User Name and Password. This is a User Name and Password that you made up yourself when you first used MDConsult. Click Verify.
If you are a new user, click on Sign up NOW! Enter the requested information and create your user name and password. Click Finish.
To search click one of the options under Answers.
Reference books: click on search under QuickTips in the right frame.
Journal Articles, Practice Guidelines, Patient Education, Drug Information: fill in your subjects in the form provided and click search now.
Click on the title that you want to view in the right frame. When viewing Journal Search Retrieval, clicking on the title of the article will produce a full citation including abstract and medical subject headings. For full text, click the icon for complete article in the last column. After the article is retrieved into the right frame, click anywhere in that frame and the click on the browser print icon.
If you are looking at reference books, an index entry will come up in the left frame.
If you search All Areas of MD Consult, a list of the number of results in each area will appear in the left frame.
Be sure to exit the program by clicking the Log Off tab in the upper right corner of the screen.
