Though frequently used interchangably Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Personal Health Records (PHR) generally refer to two different, if inextricably related concepts. Electronic Health Records generally refers to a systematic electronic records storage system wherein health professionals store their patient's medical histories. Some EHR software includes an InfoButton that will link to evidence-based medicine resources. Personal Health Records, on the other hand, are a subset of EHR referring to an electronic storage system that allows patients to store and maintain their own medical records.
