Click blue underlined ScienceDirect to go to the ScienceDirect homepage.
Note: you may use ScienceDirect without a personal profile through the Group-wide Login function, but you will not have full text access to all the journals in the list--only those to which we, or another participating library in Alabama, have a print subscription. If you use the Personal Login, you will be able to see the full-text of ALL titles in ScienceDirect.
On the first page of the site, click on the Personal Login box. Using the Personal Login as opposed to the Groupwide Login makes it possible to access both 'subscribed' titles and 'unsubscribed' titles.
If you are returning, enter your username and password as requested.
If you are a new user, click on the blue underlined "create a personal profile" area and fill in the application form presented. After you type in your desired password and retyped it to verify, click the submit button.
The program will respond with the >personal profile created= message, providing you with a username. Click on Personal Login and enter the username just supplied to you and the password you created.
If you are looking for a known journal citation,
click the Journals tab at the top of the screen.
If you are searching for articles on a topic,
click the Search tab at the top of the screen.
There is not a log off function. Exit by closing the window.
