| Study Rooms: Because there are nearly
3000 students in the health science, use of all Biomedical Library study
rooms is restricted to students from the Colleges of Allied Health Professions
(including Speech Pathology and Audiology), Medicine, and Nursing. The
rooms are locked and keys can be checked-out with your student ID card
at the Circulation Desk on the first floor.
Study Rooms One through Four: These rooms may be used by students in Allied Health, Nursing, and the Ph.D. students in Basic Medical sc iences and can be reserved up to one week in advance for up to four hours at a time. To reserve a room, call 460-7043. We do not guarantee specific room numbers. If you do not check out the key within 15 minutes of your reservation then we reserve the right to give the room to someone else. When Rooms One through Four are not reserved, eligible students may use them on an as available basis. Study Rooms five through Seven: These three rooms may be used by College of Medicine students and can be reserved in advance for up to four hours at a time up to one week in advance. To reserve a room, call 460-7043. If you do check out the key within 15 minutes of your reservation then we reserve the right to give the room to someone else. When Rooms Five through Seven are not reserved, eligible students may use them on an as available basis. Summer Bear students may use these rooms from only June 17 - August 9. Study Rooms 333 through 340: These rooms are restricted to College of Medicine students on an as available basis. Basic Medical Sciences Ph.D. students may use these rooms only from June 12 - August 25. Classroom: Room 217: This room is available for group meetings, seminars, and classes not regularly scheduled by the University that are for the students, faculty or staff of the Colleges of Allied Health Professions, Medicine, and Nursing. Biomedical Library teaching activities have priority in room use. The room is currently open for student use on an as available basis during unscheduled times. Groups (two or more students) have priority over individuals. NOTE: If the need arises that you must leave the building, drop the key off at the circulation desk and ask that it be held for you. If after twenty minutes the key has not been picked up, we reserve the right to give the room to someone else. Keys must NOT be taken from the building. A fine of $25.00 will be assessed for lost keys. If you lock the key in the room, go to the Circulation Desk on the first floor. Proper identification will be required before we unlock a room. (Key given only to person who has checked out the room.) Keys to rooms are non-transferrable. Person who checks out the key must occupy the room. The person who checks out the key will be held responsible for any violations of the policy including NO FOOD, NO DRINK, and NO TOBACCO anywhere in the Library. Abuse of this policy may result in the loss of room reservation privileges. Tobacco products, food or drink are not allowed in any part of the library. This policy is effective 3 June 1996. |
