1998 ALHeLA annual meeting was held August 20-21, 1998 in Mobile, Alabama. As President Elect, Jie Li served as program chair and had the primary responsibility for planning the meeting.
Featured speaker at the meeting was Carol Tenopir, professor at University of Tennessee Graduate School of Library & Information Science. She writes a column in Library Journal, and has published articles in Online, Database and other library science journals. Her area is online/electronic databases. Her keynote address was on the impact of electronic and online databases to the future of library.
