University of South Alabama Biomedical Library

History

DISCLAIMER
The USA College of Medicine was founded in 1972 and the Biomedical Library was founded in 1973.  The original Biomedical Library was tucked into a corner of the University Library building until its move to its current quarters in 1991/92.  Currently the Biomedical Library has two sites, one on campus which is a 35,000 nsf facility and one 5,000+ nsf facility at the USA Medical Center Mastin Building on Fillingim St.  The Medical Center Library was renovated in 1995.

In 1996 Media Production Services was administratively merged with the Biomedical Library and offers a wide range of services including photography, both traditional and digital, computer graphics, CDR production, videography, medical illustration, slide production, etc. There are also two sites for MPS, one on campus in the Medical Sciences Building and another at the Mastin Building at UMC, one flight up from the library.  Check out the MPS Homepage at (http://southmed.usouthal.edu/com/mps/index.html).

In the course of your study, research, and patient care activities our goal is to serve your information and media production services needs in any way we can.
