Before that position he was head of Acquisitions in the J. Hillis Miller Health Center Library, University of Florida in Gainesville. He helped to design the new library facility at Louisiana State University which became a prototype and he became a consultant for several new medical schools.
He was editor of the 3rd edition of "Checklist of Periodicals Titles Currently received by Medical Libraries in the Southeast Region." He served on the Nominating, Membership, Scholarship and other committees of the Medical Library Association.
